A dance-musical performance "Lace"
The performance 'Lace' explores the uniqueness of lace through music, dance, and visual art, showcasing the tradition and environment in which lace making developed in Idrija. The choreography incorporates motifs of men and women during a period when mining and lacemaking were the main sources of livelihood. Two completely different activities, on one hand, the difficult and hard work, on the other, delicate and subtle art, connect work, routine, repetitions, and continuity - the timelessness of embroidery, the discovery of new forms. In the process of lace making, from thread to lace, it is passed from hand to hand, from generation to generation, from lower to higher social strata, and is considered a status symbol. Its fragility and complexity of patterns give us a sense of timelessness.
